Once upon a time, there was a movie that came out in 2017 called “Beatriz at Dinner.” It’s about a woman named Beatriz (played by Salma Hayek) who gets invited to a fancy dinner party at the house of one of her clients, Kathy (Connie Britton).
You see, Beatriz is a healer. She’s an energy worker and massage therapist who helps people feel better – mind, body, and spirit. Kathy is one of her clients, but she’s also the wife of a rich real estate developer named Doug (John Lithgow). Doug is the kind of guy who bulldozes over anything or anyone in his way to get what he wants.
At the dinner party, Beatriz finds herself in an uncomfortable situation. She’s surrounded by white people who don’t seem to understand her or appreciate her presence. They make small talk about their vacations and their houses while Beatriz looks around with confusion and sadness.
She tries to engage with them but they brush her off or ignore her altogether. It’s clear that she doesn’t belong there, but she can’t leave because Kathy has asked her to stay.
As the night goes on, tensions rise and secrets are revealed. Beatriz becomes increasingly upset as she realizes that these people represent everything she stands against: greed, materialism, and disregard for the environment.

- Summary : A child is witness to an assault on a monk by the gang of Lorenzo the Fifth. The monk escapes and takes refuge in the estate of Doña Carlota, a countess who lives with her son Juan and daughter Beatriz.
