The journey begins with Bilbo’s reluctance to leave his comfortable hobbit hole but soon he is swept into the adventure which takes him through treacherous mountains, dark forests, and perilous encounters with goblins and trolls. Along the way, he meets a host of fascinating characters such as Gollum, who possessed the ring of power before Bilbo; and Thorin Oakenshield, the leader of the dwarves who personifies bravery and loyalty.
